When was garmin nuvi 2350 released

The series consists of three new models: , , and LT. The Nuvi features a 3. For example, if you head to work everyday at 8 a. Stepping up to the adds maps of Mexico. Finally, the "LT" in LT means that you get lifetime traffic. The series is largely analogous to the s, featuring the same ecoRoute software and myTrends predictive destinations, but with larger 4.

The Nuvi features the same maps as the , while a LM model adds lifetime map updates. The adds maps of Mexico, the LT adds lifetime traffic, and a MT gets both lifetime maps and traffic. Further up the series are the Nuvi LT and MT, retaining all of the features of the models below with the addition of Bluetooth wireless for hands-free calling and for pairing with Garmin's ecoRoute HD module for more accurate fuel economy estimates and vehicle diagnostics, as well as lifetime traffic LT or lifetime maps and traffic MT.

These vary depending upon whether you are actively navigating or not. Lane Assist see below is a very useful feature, showing you which lane you should be in. Coverage seems to be fairly extensive for Interstates, with some surface street coverage in large metros.

Junction View coverage, on the other hand, still seems pretty sparse. Expect to see this only if you live in the very largest metropolitan areas. Unfortunately, there is still no way to customize this feature to have it change colors at 5 or 10 MPH over the limit. And as noted earlier, you can correct speed limits where you see errors. You can also access archived trip logs for a record of your travels.

The allows you to add multiple via points from Where To? Once a route is created, you can access the menu for the options shown below. This is quite the useful feature. I plugged in the duration of several stops, the time I wanted to arrive at my final destination, and was able to easily determine when I needed to start my trip. While you still cannot import routes from MapSource though a firmware update has been promised that should bring this soon , improvements in the interface have made dragging destinations to change their order much easier.

In testing the nuvi LMT, I found that trafficTrends results in some increased routing time; a trip of miles took 12 seconds to calculate.

Other than those quibbles, the performed well throughout my testing. I noted no other routing abnormalities. Garmin has rolled out another winner with the 23xx series, incorporating the best features from their top of the line units and providing additional features, while keeping the price tag reasonable. There is very little here not to like. Highly recommended. Rich is the owner, editor and chief bottle-washer for GPS Tracklog.

Connect with him on Twitter , Facebook or Google Plus. The GPS is as good as you have reviewed, however I notice the screen brightness is significantly lower than or even an old I have. Is this normal with or have I got a defective piece? Wow that was quick. Thanks for the valuable reviews. Voice in was cracking up, this one is good.

I have updated the software on the GPS already. There was no option to update the software on the traffic receiver. How does the receiver software update take place?

When you connect the Nuvi to webupdater, the traffic receiver is not connected. Do you know if the software for the reciever is on the receiver or on the GPS unit? It is either on the nuvi or it gets transferred to the traffic receiver once you connect it back to it.

Although it is intended for vehicular guidance, it has pedestrian capabilities. Models are made specifically for it, including by Garmin. But why pay double? But at least just while starting to see if I might stick with it or if it is merely a passing fad for me remains to be seen.

Meanwhile at least not a major investment other than time. Does anyone have any comments about this aspect of using GPS devices?
